Apples are a Slow Food
Apples are packed with five grams of fiber or twenty percent of the daily value.
Apples require a chewing commitment which gives the body time to register it is full before you consume too many calories.
The apples natural sweeteners enter the bloodstream gradually which help blood sugar and insulin levels to steady. This allows you to feel full for a longer period of time instead of doing the opposite of what many sugary snacks do with giving you a quick rush followed by a hunger induced crash.

Great reminder. We (my wife and I) love apples, and Fuji apples in particular. Great for eating and for juicing. Best bought at the farmers market for quality and supporting local business/farmers :)
"Apples Make You Smarter"
Me too?
OK, I am off to the supermarket! I am gonna buy up all the apples and start eating them. Then I might write some "smart hubs!"
Thanks!
For some reason my comment did not post when I looked at your hub earlier, so I will try again. Thanks for reminding us how nutritious and beneficial the apple can be. And such an easy fruit to obtain. Nice hub.
I knew there was a reason I'm brilliant! lol This is a really great hub. I had no idea that apples help you breathe better too! This is really great. I have a cider mill right down the road that has the best honeycrisp apples...my favorite. Thanks for the great information!
Hi kims3003,
Great hub on a great tasting & nutritious fruit.
This is the perfect time of year to find nice fresh crispy ones. As a matter of fact I found a quaint little place here in SoCal to pick your own. Taking a drive out there next week.
Alternative Prime
All right, I'm convinced! I'm eating an apple right NOW! ;)
The thing about apples is that the different varieties vary so much in taste.
For example, my wife loves Macouns. She gave one to me and wow - if that had been the first apple I ever ate, I would never have eaten another. Way too tart.
I don't like green apples either, but I like Galas and Red Delicious.
My point is that if you don't eat apples regularly, it is probably because you haven't found the ones you like. Keep trying, you will.
.......and they clean the breath!
Excellent topic for a Hub! Apples are a miracle!
Good information, thanks.
